Ten clubs go into the weekend with at least two first-team players unavailable.
Round 10 is spread over three days, starting today with Tottenham against Newcastle and the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea. Liverpool host Manchester City tomorrow, and the round closes with two evening games the day after. Below we focus on the clubs at the top of the table, where the absences could have the biggest effect on the title race.
The top five at a glance
| Club | Out | Doubtful |
|---|---|---|
| Arsenal | 1 | 1 |
| Chelsea | 2 | 0 |
| Liverpool | 1 | 1 |
| Manchester City | 2 | 1 |
| Tottenham Hotspur | 3 | 0 |
Between them, the top five clubs have nine players ruled out and three more who will be assessed before kick-off. Tottenham have the longest list, with three first-team players out, while Arsenal and Liverpool have the shortest.
Club by club
Arsenal
The leaders have one player out and one doubt. The doubt is Bukayo Saka, who has returned to full training after a thigh problem. The coaching staff will decide on his involvement after the morning session on matchday. Arsenal are unbeaten and top with 20 points, so they can afford to be careful.
Chelsea
Chelsea have two players out and no doubts. They travel to the Emirates fourth in the table and in decent form after a 3-1 win over Brighton in the last round. Cole Palmer, with five goals and three assists, is available. The visitors have lost only once in the league this season, and their coach will want a full-strength midfield for a game of this importance.
Liverpool
Liverpool have one player out and one doubt for the visit of Manchester City. The decision on the doubtful player is expected after the final training session. Liverpool are second, one point behind Arsenal.
Manchester City
City have two players out and one doubt. Erling Haaland, the league’s top scorer with 11 goals, is fit. The trip to Anfield is the biggest test of their season so far, and the depth of their squad will be important.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have three players out, the most of any club in the top five. They host Newcastle in today’s early game, after losing 3-1 at home to Manchester City in the last round.
Elsewhere in the league
Outside the top five, the picture is mixed. Several mid-table clubs, including Aston Villa, Brentford and Manchester United, are expected to have most of their regular starters available, while a number of the teams in the bottom half are dealing with longer lists. Those clubs are part of the ten with at least two first-team players missing.
For the sides near the bottom, absences matter even more. Burnley are still without a league win this season and Sunderland have only one, so every available player counts as they try to climb away from the relegation places.
We will add the full details for each of these clubs as the remaining press conferences take place over the next two days.
Round 10 fixtures
| Fixture | When |
|---|---|
| Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United | Today, in progress |
| Arsenal vs Chelsea | Today, later |
| Aston Villa vs Brentford | Tomorrow, 14:00 |
| Liverpool vs Manchester City | Tomorrow, 16:30 |

The Arsenal vs Chelsea and Liverpool vs Manchester City games involve all of the top four. With only five points separating first and fourth, the injury news could shape more than one result.
How we build this list
We update this list after every pre-match press conference.
Our figures are based on official club statements, press conferences and confirmed suspensions. A player is listed as out when the club has said he will miss the game, and as doubtful when a final decision is still to be taken. We do not include players who are recovering from long-term injuries and have not yet returned to training, unless the club gives an update.
- Out: confirmed injuries and suspensions for this round.
- Doubtful: players who will be assessed before kick-off.
- Back: players who have returned to full training and are available.
- Updated: after every pre-match press conference.
Suspensions are based on the Premier League’s disciplinary rules. A player who collects five yellow cards in the first part of the season serves a one-match ban, and a straight red card usually brings a longer suspension. Clubs can appeal, so we only list a suspension once it has been confirmed.
If you notice a change before we do, our newsroom checks every update against the original source before it goes into the list.
